  • here

    Well Lord, here I am.
    Its another day; another night,
And I'm still swinging back and forth.
Still in and out o' the fight.
    Here I am.

    Well Lord, were I am,
I can't say its where I'm supposed to be,
    I just don't know,
Don't know what You want to make of me.
    So here I am.

    Here I am,
    I'm torn and tired,
    I know I shouldn't be,
    I must be somewhere mired.
    And here I am.

    Well Lord, here I am,
I wish I knew what I should do,
    I wish I didn't weary sit,
As if I couldn't find the way to You,
    You're still there.

    Lord You're there,
    It isn't You.
You're not the one who can't see straight,
If You lead, I'll make it through.
    And not be here.

    So, here I am.
But, Lord, please not for long.
    The time's Your call,
    I know You're never wrong,
' Guess till then I wait,
    Here.

  • a prayer

    November 2008

Oh Jesus let me always be,
    Ever leaning alone on Thee.
Lord protect me from my self,
From my confidence and my pride,
    From that never ending stream,
Of conceit in every step I stride.
Let me ever in Thy hand,
Wait for help to come from Thee,
Let me ever in Thy hand,
Know Thy grace that rescues me.

Oh Jesus let me always be,
    Ever leaning alone on Thee.
Lord protect me from those sins,
That I've allowed a fortress build,
That I've in habit left the fight,
Oh stir this conscience that was stilled.
Let me ever in Thy hand,
Wait for help to come from Thee,
Let me ever in Thy hand,
Know Thy grace that rescues me.

Oh Jesus let me always be,
    Ever leaning alone on Thee.
Lord protect me along the way,
Though it carry me through harm,
Though the path be laced with blood,
Help me follow; hold my arm.
Let me ever in Thy hand,
Wait for help to come from Thee,
Let me ever in Thy hand,
Know Thy grace that rescues me.

Oh Jesus let me always be,
    Ever leaning alone on Thee.
Lord protect me as I sleep,
That in resting I don't drift away,
Many perils are near my feet,
So I trust in Thee my foot to stay.
Let me ever in Thy hand,
Wait for help to come from Thee,
Let me ever in Thy hand,
Know Thy grace that rescues me.

Oh Jesus let me always be,
    Ever leaning alone on Thee.
  • amen

I've been splurging on devotional reading lately and came across this. I actually read it while in Scotland and then reread it just now and it resonates very deeply in my soul each time. I can only say "amen!" I hope it encourages ya'll as well.

"We want to be able to say, "Oh, I have had a wonderful call from God!" But to do even the most humbling tasks to the glory of God takes the Almighty God Incarnate working in us. To be utterly unnoticeable requires God's Spirit in us making us absolutely humanly His. The true test of a saint's life is not successfulness but faithfulness on the human level of life. We tend to set up success in Christian work as our purpose, but our purpose should be to display the glory of God in human life, to live a life "hidden with Christ in God" in our everyday human conditions (Colossians 3:3). Our human relationships are the very conditions in which the ideal life of God should be exhibited." ~Oswald Chambers

  • Be The Arms

Been working on this one for a few weeks now... I don't know that it is done, but this is what I got so far.

    There are days,

When I stand tall to face the battle,

    And there are days,

When I grow weary of the fight,

    So on those days,

When I slump forward in the saddle,

    And it’s apparent,

    I won't last another night,

Please be the arms that will not let me fall.

    Then there are times,

When my world comes crashing in,

    And at those times,

All my hopes, they come apart,

    So in those times,

When the chance that I'm alright is pretty thin,

I got my back turned to the Father,

And the doors closed to my heart,

Please be the arms that will not let me fall.

    Chorus (maybe?)

Be the arms of prayer that hold me up,

Be the arms of love, never let me go.

And when I want it least, cause I need Him most,

Be the arms He chose to let me know.
